April 19 - Suns of Pioneers

We're honored to host Max Loderbauer at Basic Electricity #9 on Friday, 19th April. Max has been making ambient and experimental music since the early 90s when he was part of the influential Berlin band, Sun Electric. These days he collaborates with Tobias Freund/ NSI, Ricardo Villalobos, Moritz von Oswald Trio, Ari Benjamin Meyers and Andre Vida. This will be Max's solo debut with a Buchla 200e synthesizer.

We're happy to welcome back Erik Dower for a funky work-out as he goes head-to-head with the Boom Doctor. Look forward to seeing you!

March 1 - Sound Generation

We are very proud to present Wolfgang Seidel and Eliad Wagner, performing as a duo on Friday, 1st March at Basic Electricity #8. Wolfgang Seidel is a drummer & synthesist, founding member of proto-punk band Ton Steine Scherben and long-time Conrad Schnitzler collaborator and curator. Composer & performer Eliad Wagner is currently exploring improvisation using a modular synthesizer and feedback systems to create 'instant compositions'. November 16 - Sparks Will Fly

Join us for a night of songs, sirens and circuits at Basic Electricity #7 on November 16th. Hainbach will improvise tracks from his upcoming album on a Eurorack Modular and Omnicord and spontaneously burst out into song. Electronicpresskit will play an experimental set using a custom modular, DJ mixer and MB-808, serving up fresh bizza with feedback and drone toppings. September 28 - The Art of Noise

Handmade electronics, microscope-visuals and modular soundscapes fill the stage at Basic Electricity #6 on September 28th. We're very happy to have finally made a date with Derek Holzer, sound artist and builder of experimental noise boxes. We're intrigued to see which curious instruments he brings along! Visual media artist Vanessa Ramos-Velasquez will collaborate with Derek. Click here to watch a video of their bioart project, A.LIVE, which they will launch at BE#6. Joining us from Rotterdam, sound-sculptor JenaMu6 will provide a melodic counterbalance, improvising on Euro-format modular and iPad.

Anthony Bisset live at Basic Electricity

We're very happy to announce that Anthony Bisset will join Franz Schuier & Lu Katavist at Basic Electricity #5 on Friday, August 31st.

 

Anthony is a Tokyo-based activist and artist who 'creates groundbreaking software and hardware to further his musical visions in partnership with DSPaudio'. He curates the BraveDJ and AntiEquation labels and has recently played alongside NegativeLand, Gaspar Claus and Sayoko Paris at La Batou Pytaeus on the River Seine in Paris. Hear his music here and here. April 27 - Instant Koma

Neukölln comes to the 'Berg on April 27th when the lads from Koma Elektronik join us for Basic Electricity #3. Look forward to modular grooves from Martin, extra-terrestrial drones from Chrisi/ Regolith and experimental sound-art from Wouter Jaspers. June 29 - Boddy Battles the Animal

We're honoured to welcome Ian Boddy to Basic Electricity #4 on June 29th. Ian will be playing an experimental set on the Serge Modular - a new experience for him and his fans alike. Ian has been at the forefront of the UK electronic music scene since 1983 releasing celebrated albums on Mirage and Surreal to Real and on his own Something Else and DiN labels. As a sound designer he has created sample CDs and virtual Instruments and music for Time & Space and deWolfe. An evening not to be missed! Download Flyers
